Hybrid pessary for uterine prolapse grade II–III and urinary incontinence
The Dr. Arabin Hybrid Normal pessary is indicated for grade II–III uterine prolapse (not suitable for grade IV) and/or urinary incontinence. It is particularly recommended when other pessaries do not provide sufficient support, especially in younger women, and allows menstrual blood drainage.
Hybrid pessaries are designed to be comfortable for the patient while providing improved retention compared to conventional pessaries. Their egg-shaped contour with concave suction areas ensures effective support without widening the vagina.
Ventrally, the pessary rests on the symphysis to provide support, while laterally it is stabilized by recesses integrated into the walls. The central opening allows discharge or blood to drain and enables simultaneous tampon use.
The device was developed for pelvic floor disorders related to levator muscle lesions and enlargement of the vaginal hiatus. Tensile force measurements demonstrated a holding force approximately five times higher than conventional pessary models.
The pessary is made of flexible, high-quality silicone and can be managed by the patient herself. The maximum uninterrupted wearing time is 30 days (Class IIa). Daily removal and reinsertion are recommended. The product is intended for single-patient use only and should be cleaned under running water without disinfectants.
Available sizes (longitudinal diameter): 55 mm, 60 mm, 65 mm, 70 mm, 75 mm, 80 mm.
