Hybrid monochrome and color display

Hybrid monochrome and color display. The Hybrid Gamma PXL function automatically distinguishes between monochrome and color images on a pixel-by-pixel basis, creating a hybrid display where each pixel has an optimal grayscale. As a result, monochrome images such as CT, MRI and X-ray are displayed in the ideal grayscale corresponding to DICOM Part 14, while color images such as 3D rendering, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and endoscopy are faithfully reproduced corresponding to Gamma 2.2. This improves the efficiency of monochrome and color image viewing by displaying them together on a single screen.

A medical monitor must be capable of high brightness in order to meet performance standards. However, to achieve high brightness in an LCD panel, the pixel aperture ratio must be increased. This leads to a generally unavoidable drop in sharpness. Thanks to EIZO's unique sharpness recovery technology, the sharpness fade (MTF) is restored. This allows you to safely display an image faithful to the original source data on the monitor, even at high brightness levels.

MTF digitally measures the fidelity with which the panel transfers details from the original image data for viewing. When sharpness recovery is activated, in the case of a pair of 2-pixel lines (spatial frequency of 0.926 cycles/mm), MTF increases by over 50%.

Screen variants for specific user requirements

EIZO offers anti-glare (AG) and anti-reflective (AR) screen variants to suit users' environments. AG treatment is ideal for exceptionally bright environments, and considerably reduces glare from ambient lighting. AR treatment is ideal for moderately lit environments to reduce light reflections from the screen while maintaining sharp text and images.

Precise diagnosis

EIZO carefully measures and adjusts grayscale at the factory to ensure that every monitor is DICOM Part 14 compliant. What's more, on start-up or wake-up, EIZO's patented drift correction function quickly stabilizes brightness levels and compensates for brightness fluctuations caused by ambient temperature and the passage of time, enabling medical images to be faithfully reproduced with stable brightness and grayscale.

With Switch-and-Go, you can use two different workstations simultaneously with just one mouse and keyboard. Simply move the cursor from one screen to the other, or switch signals between workstations as required, without having to change mouse or keyboard each time. This also reduces the total number of screens, mice and keyboards in the setup for improved workflow.

RadiLight is an optional light that attaches to the back of a RadiForce monitor and illuminates the wall behind it. This reduces eyestrain for the radiologist looking at a bright monitor in a dark environment, while ensuring that there are no reflections on the screen interfering with reading. It can be attached directly to the monitor without removing the stand, and takes up no extra desk space.

USB hub and USB Type-C for charging

The monitor features two USB Type-A downstream ports for connecting a mouse, keyboard or other USB peripherals. It also features a USB Type-C port with a power supply of up to 15 watts (5V/3A) for charging smartphones and tablets. The USB Type-C port doesn't allow the computer to access the device's memory or settings, so you can rest assured that it remains secure when connected.

The color and brightness characteristics of a monitor naturally change with use over time. Since this happens gradually, it can be difficult to detect when it's happening. Implementing a quality control solution ensures that your monitor's display characteristics remain consistent.

With the Integrated Front Sensor (IFS) built into the RadiForce monitor's front frame and RadiCS LE software (included), you can easily calibrate to DICOM Part 14 without having to mount, run and remove an external sensor.

Amortization of environmental impact

EIZO monitors do away with the use of plastic and polystyrene in packaging to reduce environmental impact. The RX270 is securely packaged using molded pulp, made from recycled cardboard and newsprint, and cables are wrapped in eco-friendly pulp foil instead of plastic bags.
